Communion Party Candy Buffet

This past weekend we set up a candy buffet at a Communion party for a little girl.

They had the most beautiful centerpieces scattered around the backyard. There was a tent put up with tables and chairs. The linens were gorgeous.

The food was catered by Market Basket in Franklin Lakes.

Our candy buffet reflected some of her favorite candies. It was colorful, fun, and perfect for the children who attended.

One of my favorite things about the display was using the pin wheels. It was a little breezy, so they were spinning away and drawing your eye towards the delicious table.

Boardwalk Sweets

I designed this candy buffet for my moms friend. They wanted a display that had a boardwalk feel to it.

I knew right away what candies to go with because I worked at the Boardwalk for a few years at Jenkinson’s Sweet Shop.

I used gummy worms, chocolate covered pretzels, candy buttons, and bright gum balls. I wanted to add some fun details so I used rainbow striped boxes as risers and an orange polka dot fabric.

Other ideas I included were fresh buttered popcorn and candy shaped sugar cookies. I used some pin wheels and lollipops as props. It was enjoyed by all.

Carnival Fun!

I was so excited to design this buffet for Beau’s Communion party. They wanted a fun, bright and eye catching display. I had this red & white striped linen that I picked up from Target this past summer and knew it would be perfect!

I found a carnival themed cupcake tower online and I used red paper suitcases to raise some jars.

The desserts were perfect! Vanilla and Chocolate cake with rainbow sprinkles. We also put cotton candy into ice cream cups and added a wooden stick.

Some of Beau’s favorite candies were included. He loves gummy bears and M&M’S.

One of my favorite things about this buffet was the cute pendant banner above the display. It was a hit with his family !!

Eloise at The Plaza Dessert Display

I love working at the Plaza Hotel! Whenever I go up the elevator to the reception area I get butterflies in my stomach. I don’t know if its because it was my dream to work there , or because I keep thinking I’m going to see Kate Hudson & Anne Hathaway competing for the best wedding. Eloise at The Plaza Dessert Display

I was so excited to design this display. The bride grew up in the Plaza and many people called her Eloise. So she thought an Eloise @ The Plaza dessert table would really make her guests smile.

I loved how the desserts came out. They looked elegant and not juvenile. The candy combination was perfect too! I used little Eloise details as in the sign, and on the cookies. How cute are the pink bows on the mini cupcakes.

The candy buffet table had an amazing centerpiece of all white roses. It made the treats look even more desirable.

Flowers were done by Belle Fleur in N.Y.C.

Beach Wedding in Point Pleasant

This wedding ceremony took place on a beach in Point Pleasant, N.J. Since the ocean was used as a beautiful background for the wedding, little decorating was needed. I tied starfish with raffia on the aisle chairs and guests were greeted with sparking champagne. The bride held a beautiful bouquet of yellow and white flowers. The flowers were done by Petal Street. They do beautiful work.

The reception was kept very casual with paper lanterns hung and hydrangeas in mason jars as centerpieces. The bride and groom danced the night away to their favorite music and nibbled on the beautiful dessert display all night.

It was one of my favorite events that I helped plan.
